WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE TESTED POSITIVE

The CDC recommends steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:

  • Quarantine! Stay home except to get medical care.
  • Separate yourself from other people.
  • Monitor your symptoms.
  • Call ahead before visiting your doctor.
  • If you are sick, wear a cloth covering over your nose and mouth.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  • Clean your hands often.
  • Avoid sharing personal household items.
  • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces every day

      If you had COVID-19 and experienced symptoms, you can be around others after:

      • 24 hours with no fever.  
      • Respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) have improved.
      • 10 days since symptoms first appeared.
      If a patient had COVID-19 but did not experience symptoms, they can be around others after:
      • 10 days have passed since your COVID-19 test.

      WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE TESTED NEGATIVE

       

      • You did not have an active COVID-19 infection at the time of your testing. However, this does not mean you will not get sick. You should continue to monitor your health. If you develop symptoms, quarantine yourself from others and seek medical advice.

      Continue to protect yourself and others by:
      • Washing your hands often
      • Avoiding close contact with others
      • Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others
      • Covering coughs and sneezes
      • Cleaning and disinfecting
      • Monitoring your health
